Peter A. Williams
December 18, 1939 ~ October 10, 2021 (age 81) 81 Years Old
Peter A. Williams, 81, of Methuen, MA completed his life journey peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lawrence, MA, to the late Emily and Alfio Guglielmino and was the youngest of three children raised in Methuen.
After graduating from Tenney High School in 1958, Peter joined the U.S. Air Force. He was proud to serve his country and was honorably discharged. He accomplished many things during that time, including the architectural design of an officer’s club and received accolades for heroic firefighting while stationed in Morocco.
The next chapter began when Peter met the love of his life, Joyce. He graduated from North Shore Community College and retired from Textron Defense Systems after 30 years as a quality engineer. During that time, he and Joyce raised two daughters, Christine and Kerri. Peter was a true outdoorsman and appreciated every aspect of nature including many fly-fishing adventures over the years with Joyce. Although he had many hobbies, his family always came first. He shared all of what he loved with his family and friends. He was an extraordinary son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandpa, and a true friend to many.
In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy Scandura and Mary Dale. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joyce Williams (Gioseffi); and daughters, Christine and her husband Robert Fogarty, Jr., and Kerri Williams and her husband Gary Coutu. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A private celebration of Peter’s life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IPF Foundation (IPFFoundation.org), Project Healing Waters (ProjectHealingWaters.org), or to the charity of one’s choice.
