Pauline L. LaPlume
November 4, 1937 ~ December 25, 2020 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Pauline L. (Croteau) LaPlume, 83, passed away Christmas day at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, MA. Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (LaPlume) Croteau. She lived in Lawrence until 1987, when she moved with her family to Methuen. Pauline was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She attended Pierce Secretary School in Boston and worked as an administrative assistant at Western Electric. Once married, she devoted her life to raising her children. She coached teams, joined the PTA, gave endless rides to and from activities and still always had dinner on the table. Her love for her family was apparent every day.
A woman of deep faith, Pauline was a member of Sacred Heart Church in South Lawrence until its closing, when she joined St. Michael Church in North Andover, MA. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector in both churches. She was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and an associate of Marie Rivier. She also volunteered at Sacred Heart Church in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. She enjoyed ten pin bowling and also served as an assistant coach for the South Lawrence / West Little League for many years. She was also an avid reader who always kept a book with her.
Mom, you may be gone from this earth, but you will always remain in our hearts.
Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald LaPlume, who passed away April 16, 2020 and her niece, Diana Coppeta.
She is survived by her children, Daniel and his wife Patty of Haverhill, Laurie Tetreault and her husband George of Andover, Michelle LaPlume of Haverhill, David, Alyson, and Eric LaPlume, all of Methuen, and Christine LaPlume and her partner Jonas De Leon of NYC; sister, Claire Coppeta and her husband Arthur of Danville, NH; grandchildren, Jonathan Tetreault, Allyson Dominguez, and Sebastian Woods-DeLeon; and her great-grandchild, Ariana Davis. She also leaves nieces, Pauline Coppeta, and Cheryl Iannalfo and her husband Corradino.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street in North Andover. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
