Pauline "Ruth" Harrison

Ruth (Eichner) Harrison, 95, of York, ME, formerly of Methuen, MA, and Bedford, NH, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lawrence on July 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Ann (Couturier) Eichner Curtis.

Born and raised in Lawrence, Ruth graduated from Lawrence High and attended secretarial school in Boston. She took great pride in her jobs working at Merrimack College and Greater Lawrence Tech until she retired in her seventies. She met the love of her life, William, in her twenties and they soon began their family. She was a devoted mother who remained in constant contact with her daughters, always wanting to hear the latest news.


Ruth was the matriarch of her family, she adored her grandchildren and was proud of all of their accomplishments. She was very personable and cared about everyone she met. Ruth had a great memory and always showed interest in every conversation. She loved to shop and occasionally go to the casino. Ruth was a big Red Sox fan, she always looked forward to watching their games. She also enjoyed spending her summers at Cape Cod with her family.

She is pre-deceased by her husband of sixty-seven years, William Harrison.

Ruth will be dearly missed and is survived by her daughters, Susan Katzenberg of Florida, Beth Harrison of Maine, Maryann Scanlon and her husband Patrick of Massachusetts, Justine Kraus and her husband Larry of Virginia; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, June 21st, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral service will be celebrated at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
