Pauline Y. Giarrusso

Pauline Y. (Hamel) “Penny” Giarrusso, 74, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at home in the presence of her loving daughter. She was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Mary (Patnaude) Hamel.

Born and raised in Lowell, MA, Penny worked for Hewlett-Packard assisting in the development of medical equipment for neonates. In her later years, she worked for Saints Memorial in billing. She met the love of her life, Frank, and began their family together. They enjoyed traveling, going out to restaurants, and learned to love the little things in life. 

Penny was known for her great love for Jesus. Spending time with her friends and family, camping and sitting around the campfire brought her much joy as well. She was a creative, talented woman who enjoyed cake decorating, knitting, sewing, painting, and crocheting.

Along with her parents, Penny was predeceased by her husband, Frank Giarrusso and her brother, Gilbert Hamel.

Penny will be deeply missed and is survived by her daughter, Beth Carter of Methuen, MA; siblings, Dave Hamel and his wife JoAnn of Salem, NH, John Hamel of VA, Sharon Keogh and her husband Thomas, of Nashua, NH; her sister-in-law, Debbie Hamel of VA; her grandchild; nieces and nephews, Timothy Hamel, David Hamel, Keith Hamel, and several other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 4, 2021, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 39 Hill Street, Methuen.
