Patricia Iona Kiley

Patricia I. Kiley (Batcheller), 88, longtime resident of Atkinson, NH, passed away on December 31, 2020, at Holy Family Hospital, Haverhill, MA, after a brief illness.

Born in Andover, MA, Patricia was the daughter of Earle and Helen Batcheller. She was raised in Methuen, MA, with her four brothers and was educated in the Methuen school system until she met and married her husband John F. Kiley, Sr. in 1948. Together they raised their five children and surrounded themselves with a large and loving family.

Patricia held many roles and positions in her life, often calling herself a jack-of-all-trades. She worked as an activities director in a local nursing home, owned and operated Pat’s Pantry in Methuen, and owned and operated a local antique shop in Georgetown, MA. After retirement, she became an active volunteer with the Atkinson Historical Society, always seeking to preserve the history of her town for future generations.

In addition, she was avid gardener and bird watcher, sitting at her dining room table (often with friends or family) overlooking her award winning gardens and watching the birds at the feeder. She greatly enjoyed genealogy, frequently going on road trips and adventures to locate tidbits of family history. Above all, if you had the time for a cup of coffee and a chat, her door was always open.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband of fifty-seven years, John F. Kiley, Sr., her children, James J. Kiley, Sheila Holloway, and Kathleen St. Hilaire. She is survived by her children, Carol Baird and her husband Walter, and John F. Kiley, Jr. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and their families, Stephanie McCarthy, Taunya Jarzyniecki, Krystal Kiley, Mathew Holloway, John (Jake) Kiley, and Jimmy Kiley; and her four great-grandchildren, Brendan Jarzyniecki, Davin Demmer, Preston Demmer, and Jack McCarthy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services will be held in private at a later date under the direction of Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen.
