Noelia Maria Carvalho

Noelia Maria (Pinheiro) Carvalho, 75, of Methuen, MA, peacefully passed away at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, on June 6, 2021. She was born in Faial Azores, Portugal on August 21, 1945, to the late Augusto Pinheiro and Maria do Carmo Da Silva.

Noelia’s family moved to the United States and she was raised in Lawrence, MA. Growing up, she and the love of her life, Manuel, would write letters to stay in touch. The long distance didn’t affect their love, and they ended up getting married and started their family together. Noelia worked as an assembly technician for Andover Controls.

Noelia was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a selfless woman who did anything to keep her family happy. Noelia adored her grandchildren, she referred to them as her world, and the love and care she provided them showed how important they were to her. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and loved to cook. Noelia always had a smile on her face, and was known for her generosity and humor.

Along with her parents, Noelia is pre-deceased by her brothers, Mario Pinheiro and Augusto Pinheiro, as well as her brother-in-law, Jose Azevedo.

She will be deeply missed and is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Manuel Carvalho; sons, Edgar “Eddie” Carvalho of Lawrence, MA, Kevin Carvalho and his wife Elizabeth, of Methuen, MA, and Gary Carvalho of Lawrence, MA; siblings, Manuel Pinheiro and his wife Eugenia, of Fremont, CA, Louisa Azevedo of Methuen, MA, Teresa Hernando and her husband Oscar of Jerome, ID, Estela Azevedo and her husband Braulio of Filer, ID; grandchildren, Antonio M. Carvalho and Nieko K. Carvalho; and her Godmother, Maria Pinheiro. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, June 14, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen. Burial will immediately follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 29 Barker Street in Lawrence.
