Nina D. Kuzmitski

October 10, 1919 ~ January 22, 2020 (age 100) 100 Years Old

Tribute

Nina (Dworesky) Kuzmitski, 100, of Lawrence, formerly of Methuen, born to Samuel Dworesky and Barbara (Karnas) Dworesky, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2020.

Born in Lowell, Nina moved to Lawrence as a preschooler. She was educated in Lawrence Public Schools, and married Stefan Kuzmitski in 1938, until he predeceased her. Nina was employed in the Arlington Mills during World War II. She later accepted employment at Western Electric, where she stayed for more than 30 years, along with several of her relatives, until she retired from precision crystal cutting.

Nina enjoyed travel and went on several cruises and trips to Europe, visited many Caribbean islands, and U.S. states.

She was an excellent cook, and loved to recreate her mother’s native Polish cuisine—such as naleshniki and golumpki, particularly for her family’s special Christmas Eve dinners.

Above all else, Nina loved fashion, and engaged in several creative hobbies associated with the enhancement or the design of clothing, including sewing, embroidery and knitting. Her favorite pastime with close female family members was to take them shopping and provide helpful advice about what to wear.

She doted on her two granddaughters from the moment each was born. Mentioning them always brought a smile to her face.

She leaves behind a son, Stephen Kuzmitski, and his wife, Deana (Branch) of New Hampshire; granddaughter, Holly Kuzmitski, of Mississippi; granddaughter, Kathy (Kuzmitski) Banner and her husband, Larry, of Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Abby and Alex Ince and Will Banner.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visitation hours on Monday, January 27, 2020 between the hours of 2:00-4:00 PM and from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be celebrated on 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 28 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
