Nina M. Lucas

Nina M. (Sammataro) Lucas, 94, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020, at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Methuen, MA. She was born to Anna (Librizzi) and Giocchino Sammataro.

A member of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, Nina was an active member of St. Rita Sodality. She always had a craft fair at Feast of Three Saints during the Labor Day weekend and volunteered to help church members get their envelopes.

Nina was a generous, kind, and thoughtful woman who always helped her family members in need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Nina and her husband, Samuel, enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage. Both lived happy and healthy lives to the age of 94 and passed away within two months of their 95th birthdays.

Predeceased by her husband, Samuel Lucas in 2012; brothers: Domenic, Joseph, Gene, Thomas, and Jimmy, and sisters: Jennie, Tillie, Anna, Theresa, and Rose, Nina is survived by her son, Anthony Lucas and her brother, John Sammataro.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Nevins for their tremendous care of Nina during her stay.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, services for Nina will be held in private at the request of her family under the direction of the Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nina’s memory may be made to the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 10 Ingalls Ct., Methuen, MA 01844.
