Nathan Antonio DeLeon

March 14, 2007 ~ August 22, 2019 (age 12) 12 Years Old

Tribute

Nathan A. Deleon, 12, of Haverhill, MA passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Born on March 14, 2007 in Methuen, he was the oldest of three children of Jeremy and Judy (Pena) DeLeon.

Nathan was about to start seventh-grade in a therapeutic setting at Bartlett School in Haverhill. He was full of life and many dreams. He enjoyed music, most especially during car rides with his mother where he was able to show off his dancing and musical skills. He also liked riding his bike, dancing, especially making silly selfie videos of himself, and being surrounded by his loved ones. He was an energetic, free spirited young man whose life was cut too short. Nathan was also very fond of Aliens and Area 51.

Upon Nathan’s passing, his organs were donated so that four other people could live: a nine-year old girl received his heart, a dear female friend in her mid-thirties received one kidney, as did another female in her mid-thirties who received the other kidney, and lastly, a male in his sixties received his liver. Thanks to Nathan’s generous organ donations, these four families will have their loved ones with them longer than expected.

He will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him and will forever be remembered for his happiness and laughter.

Nathan is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Judy (Pena) DeLeon of Haverhill; two siblings, Annalie and Nicholas DeLeon, both of Haverhill; maternal grandparents, Antonio Pena and his wife, Maura, of Lawrence; paternal grandparents, Confesor Deleon, Sr., and his wife, Silvia, of Clermont, FL; great-grandmother, Inocencia Alvarez, of Lawrence; adored aunts and uncles, Kathy Pena and her companion, Enrique Lopez of Haverhill, Anthony Pena of Lawrence, Sylvia Abreu and her husband, Orlando, of Nashua, NH, and Confesor Deleon, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Clermont, FL; cherished cousins, Lorenzo and Alexis Abreau, both of Nashua, NH, and Shanayah and Armani Avecedo, both of Haverhill. In addition, he leaves several aunts, uncles, friends, and extended family.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, August 30, 2019, from 2:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nathan’s memory may be made to the Doug Flutie Foundation for Austism at www.flutiefoundation.org.
