Michael J. Twomey, Jr.

Michael J. Twomey, Jr., 82, of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 4, 2021, in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Noreen (Gile) Twomey.

Born and raised in Lawrence, Michael was the son of the late Rita A. (Connolly) Twomey-Conroy and Michael J. Twomey, Sr. After graduation from Lawrence High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country.

Upon his return from active duty in the Army, Michael returned home where he began his career at W.T. Grants, eventually J.C. Penney, as a finance manager until he retired. He was a quiet man who loved to read and watch old John Wayne movies. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed time spent with his family, especially family gatherings. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke Parish in Plaistow, NH.

Michael is survived by his children, Ally Valentine and her husband Roger of Easton, MD, David Twomey of Derry, NH, Jonathan Twomey and his wife Amy of Cummings, GA; grandchildren, Ben, Jennifer, Brianna, Ashely, Kassie, Corey, Tyler, Joshua, Shane, Caroline, Christopher, Carla, and Eddie; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Jameson, Liam, Cooper, Briana, Maya, Reggie, Cameron, and Maddie; his sister, Ann Carson and brother, Cornelius Twomey; nephews, James Carson and his wife Lynda and Sean Carson and his wife Shannon.

Michael was pre-deceased by his son, Michael G. Twomey.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Street in Methuen, MA. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 9, at 10:00 AM, at St Luke the Evangelist Parish, 8 Atkinson Depot Road, Plaistow, NH.
