Michael J. Rickard, III

Michael J. Rickard, III, 19, of Methuen, MA, passed away November 2, 2023, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, after a tragic car accident. He was born in Methuen and was the son of Michael J. Rickard, Jr. and Linda T. (Johnson) Rickard of Methuen.

Raised and educated in Methuen, Michael played Methuen Pop Warner and was a graduate of Methuen High School where he continued his football career playing on the offensive line for the Rangers’ Football Team and was lovingly referred to as “Big Mike.” He played basketball and threw the Shot Put for indoor and outdoor track. Mike also attended the University of New England and played on the offensive line for the UNE Nor'easters' Football Team.

Mike was employed in Environmental Services within the city of Methuen. He also worked part-time at Mano’s Pizza in Methuen and as a lifeguarded at Canobie Lake Park.

Besides his parent, Mike is also survived by his sister and best friend, Ilene Rickard of Methuen, MA; his loving grandmother, Donna Rickard of Lawrence, MA; as well as aunts, uncles, the family friend group, cousins, and so many friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen.
