I JUST WANT THE FAMILY TO KNOW THAT MR. ANGELARI MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY SON'S LIFE WHEN HE WAS 15 YRS OLD. MY SON WAS HAVING PROBLEMS IN SCHOOL WITH HIS GRADES AND HIS ATTITUDE. I HAD MEETINGS WITH HIS TEACHERS AND TO BE HONEST MOST JUST BRUSHED HIM OFF AS A DEFIANT STUDENT. I KNEW HE WAS GOING THROUGH SOMETHING BUT JUST DIDNT WANT TO I GUESS ADMIT IT TO MYSELF. I MET WITH MR. ANGELARI FOR A PARENT/TEACHER MEETING AND HE SAID TO ME THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING UPSETTING HE COULD SEE IN MY SON THAT I WASNT ABOUT BEING A DEFIANT TEENAGER. I LISTENED BECAUSE I COULD GENUINELY SEE HE WAS CONCERNED. WELL THANK YOU TO YOUR HUSBAND / FATHER TWO DAYS AFTER THAT CONVERSATION MY SON TRIED TO END HIS LIFE - UNSUCCESSFULLY THANK GOD BUT BECAUSE OF MR. ANGELARI I OPENED UP MY EYES AND GOT THE HELP HE NEEDED. SO I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH MR. ANGELARI FOR BEING ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS I HAVE EVER MET!!!! YOU MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN A CHILD'S LIFE AND OUR FAMILY!!!! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!

We are so sorry to read about Mike's passing. We know it was a long ordeal for all of you and, of course, especially for Mike. He no longer has to suffer. Our prayers are with you.
I was diagnosed with a sinus infection this morning and Donna is recovering from a bout with the flu, otherwise we would attend the wake and funeral. Our thoughts are with you all. Yours,
Donna and Mike Hughes

Dear Carol and family,
I'm deeply saddened by Mike's passing and offer my sincere condolences. I first remember Mike from the Sargent School, then Tenney High School, and lastly was surprised at seeing Mike as my cohort in the Methuen Public Schools. He always greeted me with a warm friendly smile and will certainly be warmly remembered.
Sincerely,

It is with a broken heart that I send this message to Michael's loving family, relatives, and friends., especially to his wonderful, dedicated, loving wife Carol. Michael has been a dear friend, more like a brother, since we were twelve years old. My family and I have so many beautiful memories that we shared with Michael and then with Carol, who brightened Michael's life with her cheerfulness, love, and dedication. Because of Michael the world was a better place. Gus and I and then Bob and I shared so many poignant experiences with Michael and Carol that we will cherish forever. Now Michael is an angel watching over all of us who loved him deeply. His spirit will remain with us until we join him. Our only solace is that he is no longer in any pain and is enjoying his reward with God for a life well-lived. As always Michael, Carol, and his family are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Ann Marie and Bob and Gus from Heaven

I am lost for words, this empty unbelievable painful time for You Carol, Norma, Lara, Auntie, Alison and all the rest of us. After all this time We now have to accept this is real.
I was so fortunate to speak with Mike New Yrs day, tell him I love him and receive those precious words back from him...I was blessed, but there is nothing that helps with this loss we are all going through. We all know that Mike was a very special man, he cared so deeply for all of us, but his depth of love was incredible, his fight, his strength, the will to go on and that will first was for his amazing wife, his rock, his everything that he lived for, the wonderful woman he married that he loved till death do they part, a wife that loved him equally the same, that lived and felt all that he did, in love, happiness, and even his pain.
I can only wish, we feel and know that Mikes new journey is the most loving wonderful experience he has ever endured, that through our loss, sadness and tears that knowing this will bring some comfort to all of us.
With my love Mike, RIP

My sincere condolences for the loss of Mike. I worked with Mike for many years as a program assistant in his class. I will miss his smile & his music. I always kidded Mike that he was “an old man”, even though we were only 2-3 weeks apart in age. Mike you will be so missed.

Michael will be so missed by all who knew him. I have so many great memories of him, I remember getting really excited to visit him with my Dad as a kid, because of his dog Molly, I loved dogs and didn't have one. I can also thank Mike for introducing me to the Beatles as a kid, I will never hear a Beatles song and not think of him. He was my favorite teacher in high school, and someone I always loved to invite to our family gatherings, it won't be the same without him, Michael had one of the biggest hearts out there, he was always so good to me, my brothers, and our kids. I have so many great memories of his awesome 4th of July parties over the years, and swimming at his house in Andover, I will cherish those memories forever.
