Maureen A. DiFrancesco

Maureen A. (Regan) DiFrancesco, 61, of Methuen passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Methuen, Maureen was one of three daughters, born to the late Shaun and Mary (O’Sullivan) Regan.

She was a graduate of Tenney Memorial High School, class of 1975. Maureen was very proud of her Irish heritage and as a young girl was a championship Irish step dancer who competed in Ireland on her many family vacations. Maureen loved the ocean, boating, decorating, shopping and enjoying her backyard by her pool. She was a great host and loved to entertain. Despite being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2013, Maureen remained the consummate professional. She was a well-known Executive Mortgage Banker at Bank of America who had achieved many prestigious titles including the President's Club.

Maureen will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and zest for life.

She is lovingly survived by and will be forever missed by her husband, David J. DiFrancesco of Methuen; son, Jason A. Newton and his wife, Shara of Salem, NH; stepsons, David and Christopher DiFrancesco, both of Salem, NH; grandchildren whom she loved more than life, Jacob and Adriene Newton of Salem, NH; adoring two sisters, Eileen Regan and her partner, Ferris Hatem of Methuen, and Rosemary Mottola and her husband, Joseph Mottola of Methuen; niece, Jennifer Mottola; and nephew, Michael Mottola.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Floor 6, Brookline, MA 02445.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 9:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Entombment will follow at Eternal Light Memorial, 21 Pond Street in Salem, NH.
