Mary (Margerison) Zacharias, 94, of Methuen, MA, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019. Born in Biddeford, ME, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Farrimond) Margerison.
Mary attended Lawrence, MA and North Andover, MA schools and was a graduate of Johnson High School class of 1943. She worked for many years as an assembler at Western Electric and retired in 1986 after twenty-five years of service. She volunteered at North Andover and Haverhill Senior Centers and worked on the Audioball for the blind. She was a member of the Pioneer Club and life member of Communication Workers of American Union.
Predeceased by her husband Frank Zacharias who passed away December 22, 2019; her sister, Mildred Grosser; and brother, Thomas Margerison, Mary is survived by her step-sons, Samuel “Skip” Zacharias and Donald Zacharias both of Ohio; nieces, Mary Ann Firth and her husband Donald of Wakefield,MA, Sharon Walsh of Stoneham, MA and Diane Phillips of Lawrence; and her nephew, Howard Grosser of Concord, NH.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 30, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Salem Animal Rescue League, Holy Family Hospital Cancer Management Oncology Department, or the Methuen Senior Center.
