Mary E. Lang

Mary E. (McDonald) Lang, a long-time Salem resident passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Holy Family Hospital, Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Newburyport, the daughter of the late Leo G. McDonald and Helen M (Shepperson) Teal. Mary was raised and educated in Newburyport and Haverhill and enlisted in the United States Army out of high school.

Her passion was her family. She most enjoyed being involved with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren from birth through marriage. Mary also enjoyed many hobbies including oil painting and all forms of crafting.

Mary is survived by her children Susan (Bird) Palmer and her husband Shand, John Bird and his wife Dale, children of Richard C. Bird, Bryan Lang and his wife Cheryl, Wayne Lang and his wife Lisa, sons of Kenneth W. Lang; grandchildren Michelle, Samantha, John R. Bird, Jr., Bethany, Douglas, Kelsey, Kailey, Kamryn; great-grandchildren Blaise, Angelleah, Xavier, Gabriel, Lilian, Bianca, Dresden, Ethan, Emily, Madilyn, Luke, Bennett, John R. Bird, III, Benjamin; and her beloved sister Frances Sullivan of Salem, NH. She was predeceased by her beloved mother Helen Teal.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 30, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, MA.
