Mary (McKenna) Fox, 102, passed away November 29, 2018 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Anna E. (Cafferty) McKenna.
Mary was educated in the Lawrence school system, attending St. Augustine’s Grammar School and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1934. She and her husband, Charlie, raised their family in Lawrence. During her children's high school and college years, she worked at Western Electric, and later, after her husband’s death, she worked in the admitting office at Lawrence General Hospital.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband, Charlie D. Fox; daughter, Judith E. Burke and her husband, Brian; and her siblings, Elizabeth B. McKenna, Anna W. McKenna, John H. McKenna and his wife, Eileen, and Margaret Mallinson and her husband, George.
She is survived by her son, Charles D. Fox, Jr. and his wife, Judith (Folan) Fox; her daughter, Kathleen M. Field and her husband, Sydney; and eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home for their kind, compassionate, loving care they provided for Mary during her short stay.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Parish, 118 South Broadway in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
