Mary F. Ata

Mary Ata passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on the morning of April 13, 2024, at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, MA, as she went to be with the Lord at 78 years old.

Mary was born in Darb el Sim, Lebanon on May 31, 1945, to Fareed and Elizabeth Martha Ata. She was a self-taught fashion designer by trade and pursued many hobbies including gardening, baking, and spending time with her family.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ibrahim, and their children, Tony (Esperance) Ata, Mirvat (Dr. Talal) Bou-Harb, and Micheline (Youssef) Azwat. She will also be forever in the hearts of her grandchildren, Alexa (Jorge) Burbara, Petra, Andrea, Peter, Perla, Rianna, Michael, Anthony, and Sharbil, as well as her great granddaughter, Abigael. Mary will also be fondly remembered by her siblings, the late Tannous (Leila) Ata, the late Adele (the late Elias) Bassil, the late Jalile (the late Chahede) Azouri, Nawal (Philip) Aoun, Aziz (Marie) Ata, Maroun (Amal) Ata, the late Violette (the late Halis) Halis, Wanis (Eugenie) Ata, and her nephews and nieces.

Mary was known for her unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and boundless love for her family and friends. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her warm smile and compassionate heart. She welcomed her loved ones into her home with open arms, sharing her gentle wisdom and compassionate heart. Mary had such a love for her garden that she could grow anything she touched in even the most barren soil. She was a devoted Maronite and while she is no longer among us, heaven rejoices as she is now in the presence of Jesus.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 PM at St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024. at 10:30 AM in the church. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery Methuen, MA.
