Tribute

Marilyn B. (Gagne) Scionti, 79, of Salem, NH passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Parkland Medical Center with her loving family by her side.  Born and raised in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alda (Collette) Gagne.

Marilyn was a graduate of the Tenney High School which led her to a career at W.T Grant in the financial department. She was a loyal employee for over 20 years until its closing. Marilyn began her second career at Malden Mills where she was an administrative assistant and retired after dedicating an additional 19 years. Marilyn was beloved by her coworkers at both Grants and Malden Mills where she made many friends that lasted beyond her career.

Marilyn loved family gatherings and her church.  She enjoyed hosting family holidays or any event she could make special for others. She was always writing detailed personalized poems for these special occasions for birthdays or holidays. Marilyn was crazy about her grandchildren and spent as much time as she could being entertained by them. She loved playing cards with family and friends and didn’t let her sweetness get in the way of winning a game. Everyone that met her loved her for her kindness and selflessness and the way she would make you feel good about yourself.  She was so proud of her family and always wanted them to know how special they were to her.

Marilyn was very involved in her church.  She volunteered her time at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH and the Immaculate Conception Church in Florida.  She attended Bible study and Adoration and was dedicated to praying the Rosary. She and her husband volunteered at the Lazarus House in Lawrence for many years where they brought and served meals to the less fortunate. Marilyn felt so blessed and wanted to share her blessings with everyone.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph E. Scionti; her children, Jeffrey J. Scionti and his wife Joan of Newburyport, MA, and Lisa M. Keller and her husband James of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Kathryn and Anna Scionti, and Allison and Nathan Keller.  She also leaves her sister Florence Grover of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was predeceased by her twin sister, Jacqueline Lynch-Houle.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street Methuen.  Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH.  Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
