Maria Pia (Magliocchetti) Scascitelli, 66, of Sandown, NH, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born in Anagni, Italy, the daughter of the late Paolo and Nora (Leonardi) Magliocchetti and immigrated to the United States in 1968, where her family settled in Haverhill.
Maria was employed at Lucent Technologies, Inc. for over thirty years and then joined her daughters and son-in-law at Putnam Investments, where she worked for the past fourteen years.
Maria’s life was centered around her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was known for her phenomenal cooking skills, her homemade gnocchi and meatballs were the absolute favorite of her family. She enjoyed spending sunny days at the beach, the occasional trip to Foxwoods and always staying on trend with the latest fashion.
Her love for her children and grandchildren was her main priority. She was always going out of her way to take care of her family and wanted nothing but happiness for them.
She is survived by her loving husband of forty-eight years, Carlo Scascitelli; her daughters, Ellen De Luca and her husband James of Andover and Jessica Plante and her husband Jeffrey of Newburyport; her beloved grandchildren, Massimiliano and Fabiana De Luca; her siblings, Angelo Magliocchetti and his wife Laura, Gerardo Magliocchetti and his wife Adriana, Lina Premutico and her husband Cesare; her brother-in-law, Francesco Premutico; and sisters-in-law, Ermelinda Magliocchetti and Valerie Magliocchetti; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Aurelio Magliocchetti and Giancarlo “J.C.” Magliocchetti; and her sister, Rita Premutico.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 4-8pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, December 5th at 10:30am at Saint Anne Parish in Hampstead, NH. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral at Hampstead Lakeview Cemetery. Maria Pia loved beautiful colorful flowers, and to honor her memory the family asks that we shower her with what she loved. Flowers should be sent to Cataudella Funeral Home.
