Margaret C. Patnaude

Margaret C. (Duggan) Patnaude, 87, of Reading, MA, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on April 10, 2024, at Winchester Hospital.  Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Vincent B. and Margaret M. (McMahon) Duggan.

Raised in Lawrence, Margaret was a graduate of Lawrence High School and McIntosh Business School.  Besides raising her family, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service and retired from the Lawrence Public Schools where she worked as an administrative assistant.

Margaret, who liked to be called Marjie with a “J”, loved her hobby of antiquing in her favorite antique shops in Southern Maine followed by a nice dinner. She was an avid reader, couldn’t pass up a good documentary, was superlative at crossword puzzles, and passionate about shopping for clothes and jewelry. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family especially on the holidays and summer cookouts.

Margaret will be forever and dearly missed by all and is survived by her daughter, Irene Moschetto and her husband Peter; her daughter, Cynthia Patnaude; her son, Dr. Michael Patnaude; and her sister, Dorothy Incropera and her husband Frank. She also leaves twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends including her lifetime friend, Jean Sutton.

Margaret was predeceased by her children, Robert W. Patnaude, Jr. and Vicki-Jeanne Carlisle; her brothers, Thomas and Richard Duggan; her grandson, Peter Moschetto, Jr.;  and her two mutually devoted dogs, Sandy and Ashley.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charitable organization of your choice.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visiting period from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway Lawrence, MA.  Her funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM in the church.  Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover, MA.
