Lysia Pierre

Lysia Pierre, 66, of Lawrence, MA, passed away November 20, 2022, at her home.  She was born in the Dominican Republic and was the daughter of Israel Pierre and Altagracia Bautista. 
 
Raised and educated in Port Au Prince, Haiti, Lysia came to the United States in the 1980s and moved to Lawrence in 1986.  She worked for over twenty years as a nurse’s aide at Oxford Manor Nursing Home in Haverhill, MA. She was a member of the First Haitian Baptist Church in Lawrence where she served as the First Lady by her husband  Pastor Pascal Camille’s side. Lysia loved spending time with her family, friends and church members. During her free time she loved to take family trips, go shopping and trying out different restaurants. Lysia fought a tough battle with a terminal illness. She was a very strong  woman and a true warrior. 
 
Lysia was predeceased by her son, Jonathan Camille.
 
She is survived by her husband, Pastor Pascal Camille; her children, Sandy Camille and her husband Fred Georgeon of Lawrence and Ruth Camille and her husband James Plaisir of Quincy, MA; her siblings, Israel Pierre, Nora Williams, Marie Pierre, Mariera Pierre, Raymond Pierre, Elisa Luciano, Renan Cutven and Bertony Michelle.  She also leaves six grandchildren, Amari, Logahan, and Ezra Georgeon, Jeremiah, Jayden, and Joshua Plaisir, and her step-daughters, Picole Camille Louis and family, Marjorie Camille Joyner and family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Friday, December 2, 2022, from 4:00 PM–8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.  Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 9:00 AM at First Haitian Baptist Church, 150 Garden St., Lawrence.  Entombment will be in St. Mary – Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, 29 Barker Street Lawrence. Repast meal will be held following the Entombment at Riverside Assembly of God, 15 Lowell Blvd., Methuen.
