Lu-Ann (Hoag) Hickey, 61, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, July 19, 2019. Born in Melrose, Lu-Ann was one of five siblings, born to Douglas and MaryLou (Humphreys) Hoag.
She received her certification as a dental assistant, and then owned and operated her cleaning business, which she operated for over twenty years.
Lu-Ann loved life and lived it to the fullest. She cherished her relationships with people and adored all animals. She enjoyed going out to restaurants and going out dancing; and was the first one on the dance floor and the last. In addition, Lu-Ann was considered a second mother by many of her children’s friends. She was the most forgiving, loving, and warmest person you would ever meet.
Predeceased by her mother, MaryLou (Humphreys) Hoag, Lu-Ann is lovingly survived by her husband, Robert A. Hickey; her children, Ryan Hickey and his wife, Kasey of Hampton, NH, and Shannon Hickey, and her partner, Ben Hannon of Amesbury, MA; her father, Douglas Hoag and his wife Sarah of FL; her siblings, Carol (Hoag) Burkhart, Barbara (Hoag) Sullivan, Douglas Hoag, and David Hoag, all formerly of Lynnfield, MA; one future granddaughter; and three grand puppies, Jaxson, Ozzy, and Zola.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road in Salem, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lu-Ann’s honor to My Breast Cancer Support, at www.mybreastcancersupport.org or to PO Box 1576, Portsmouth, NH 03802-1576.
