Louise M. (Sullivan) Love of Derry, NH, formerly of Methuen and Lawrence, passed away on January 27, 2018 after a long illness.
Born August 4, 1929 in Lawrence, MA to the late Jeremiah J. and Helen (Yunggebauer) Sullivan, Louise attended the Wetherbee Grammar School and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1946. She served her country in the US Naval Women’s Auxiliary Volunteer Enlistment (WAVES) during the Korean War from 1949 to 1953. She worked for the then New England Telephone Company for thirty-three years, retiring in 1989. She came out of retirement and worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover and Methuen for twelve years, retiring in 2003. Louise was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, where she once served as the local president and shop steward.
Prior to moving to New Hampshire, Mrs. Love was a member of St. Lucy parish in Methuen where she taught CCD and volunteered at Bingo for many years. She was also a member of St. Basil’s Cursillo Community and attended the Monday Night Liturgies held there for many years.
She is survived by her sons, David of Derry, NH, Paul and his wife, Frances of Haverhill, MA, Jeremiah and his wife, Bonnie Lee, and Daniel and his, wife Tracy, all of Derry NH; stepchildren, Michael R. and Kathleen A. Love of NY. She also leaves twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Richard Sullivan and his wife, Dorothy of Riverside, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Diane; son, Timothy; step-son, Patrick; brothers, Jeremiah and Herbert; and her sister, Helen Volk.
Friends and relative are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the NH Special Olympics or St. Basil’s Seminary, 30 East St., Methuen, MA 01844.
