Lillian Martellini

Lillian Martellini, 91, of Methuen, MA, peacefully passed away in the evening of Thursday, March 9, 2023. In her final moments, she was able to say goodbye to family and was supported by the wonderful staff of Holy Family Hospital. 

A twin, Lillian and her beloved late brother Carmen were born May 13, 1931 to parents Carmine and Anna (Mesolella) Martellini, Italians who made their home in the city of Lawrence, MA. She was the last of her three siblings: Ralph, Rosalee, and Carmen. She took pride in caring for her sister Rosalee during her last years, and visiting her twin brother Carmen at his beach house in Salisbury, MA. 

A graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1949, Lillian held various jobs in the Merrimack Valley area including working for her brother-in-law, Dr. Niceforo, in his medical office most of her life. She was also known as the hotdog lady during her retirement job at Central Catholic after her official retirement in the mid 90s.

Lillian enjoyed spending time at home watching tennis, betting on horses at the race track, going to church, spending time with family, and indulging in the occasional classic drink, a Bourbon Old Fashion.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Martellini of Methuen; her grandchildren, Daniel Rodriguez and Natalie Pagán of New Jersey. She was also fortunate to have had five great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicolas, Gabriella, Dominic, and Halima, all of whom she met and got to spend much time with.

Funeral services for Lillian will be held in private.
