Leo J. Seman, 88, of Methuen passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Salemhaven Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was born in Allentown, PA and was the son of the late John and Teresa (Giggler) Seman.
Leo was raised and educated in Allentown, PA and was a graduate of Boston University and Suffolk University. He worked as an accountant at the Parole Board of Massachusetts and the Raytheon Corporation in Andover.
Leo was a 4th Degree Knight and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4027 of Methuen. He sang with the Happy Hearts at the Methuen Senior Center and enjoyed collecting coins and stamps. Leo was an avid traveler and enjoyed visiting many parts of the world.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War.
The family would like to thank the staff at Salemhaven Nursing Home for the compassionate care shown to Leo.
His family was most important to him and Leo is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Carmelina “Millie” (Mazzaglia) Seman; sons, Dr. Leo Seman, Jr and his wife Donna of CT and Dr. Thomas Seman and his wife Gayle of Andover; daughters, Marie Sullivan and her husband Ken Spatola of Salem, NH and Ann Seman and her husband Daniel Walczyk of NY; brother, Joseph Seman and his wife Joan of FL; sisters, Theresa Slonaker of FL and Joan Yura of TX; grandchildren, Atty. T. Michael Sullivan and his wife Leslie, Erin Ducharme and her husband Richard, Jennifer Sands and her husband Brian, Sebastian, Leo, Emily and Rachel Seman, Samuel and David Walczyk, James Seman and Victoria Seman and her fiancé Kevin Stack; great-grandchild, Conor Sullivan as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salemhaven Nursing Home, 23 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH 03079.
