Laura M. (Miele) York, 89, of Bradford, MA, formerly of Salem NH, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Holy Family Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Beneamino and Fiorinda “Florence” (Falese) Miele.

Laura was a graduate of Lawrence High School Class of 1946. She worked at Craig Systems and later at the IRS as a lead tax examiner. She was a member of the Mother of Twins Association. As a woman of great faith, a devout Catholic, Laura attended Church regularly, most recently at St. Lucy’s Parish in Methuen.

A loving, compassionate, kind woman, Laura will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her most treasured moments were times spent surrounded by family and friends, be it at home, the beach or Florida. Nothing brought her more joy. An excellent cook, few things made her happier than seeing those she loved breaking bread and enjoying a delicious meal she had lovingly prepared.

Laura was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, William “Bill” York, who passed away March 12, 2018. Theirs was a true love story.

Laura is survived by her treasured children, Kathi Mailloux and her husband Ron of Bradford, Karyn Smith and her husband Frank of Bradford, Susan Sarkisian and her husband David of Methuen, Sheryl York of North Andover; her cherished grandchildren, R.J. and Rachael Mailloux, Bryttany, Bryanna, Colton and Sydney Smith; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at St. Lucy’s Parish, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
