Kathleen T. Brennan

Kathleen T. (Keenan) Brennan, 89, formerly of Andover and Palmetto, FL, passed away peacefully at High Pointe Hospice House surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 10, 2018.

Kathleen was born on June 5, 1929 to the late Charles A. and Julia (Qualter) Keenan. In 1948, she married the love of her life, John C. “Jack” Brennan, and together they raised a large, loud, loving family. Kay attended St. Laurence O’Toole Grammar School, graduated in 1947 from Lawrence High School, and attended the McIntosh Business School. She was employed at the Internal Revenue Service and retired from the Admissions Office at Merrimack College. Kay and Jack spent many happy years of retirement in Florida. She loved to travel, especially to Ireland, and enjoyed watching the Pat’s games at the Claddagh Pub with a Bud Lite draft. But most of all, Kay was the happiest when surrounded by her family, whether it was traveling, a day at the beach, or a backyard cookout.

Kay is survived by her six children, Ellen, and her husband, Edward “Hoppy” Curran of Methuen, David and his wife, Meg of Savannah, GA, John and his wife, Maureen of Andover, Tina (Grange) and her husband, Jack Gilhooly of Methuen, with whom she lived, Judy and her husband, Neil Foley of Atkinson, NH, and Kerry, wife of the late Jay O’Neill of Haverhill. Grandma is also survived by her grandchildren, Patrick and Matt Curran, Kate and Justin Fowler, Caroline Brennan, Greg Brennan and his wife Kathleen, Amy, Danny and Julie Brennan, Chris and Casey Grange, Andrew Grange and his husband Brian Connolly, Kaylyn and her husband, Brian Cressinger, Matt Gilhooly, Lt. Taige Foley, US Army, Erin and her husband, Keith Dube, and Jake and Nicholas O’Neill. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren, Calleigh, Chase, Evan, Brayden, Dougie, Max, Miles, and Charley; as well many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was pre-deceased by her brother, Charlie Keenan; her sister, Eileen Alsup; her children, Julie and Ian; and her sons-in-law, Doug Grange and Jay O’Neill.

Calling hours will be at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 3 – 7 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel/St. Theresa Church, 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen on Thursday, August 16th at 11:00 AM.
