Joyce M. Simone

Joyce M. (Parrillo) Simone, 69, of Merrimack, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Ralph R. Simone, Jr., with whom she shared fifty wonderful years in marriage.

Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Olga (Campaiola) Parrillo, Joyce graduated from Lawrence High School, class of 1968.

Joyce and Ralph were high school sweethearts and in 1969 the two were married and they started to raise their family. In 2016, they decided to move to Merrimack, NH as part of their retirement. Recently celebrating their 50-year anniversary, they were thrilled to be surrounded by their family and many dear friends. Throughout her life, Joyce felt so blessed to have such a wonderful relationship and more so even by their wonderful children. It was always clear that what mattered most to her over the years was her husband and children, and later in life, was so proud to see the next generation with the arrival of her granddaughter Alyesha.

Over the years, she and Ralph enjoyed trips to the west coast and of late, traveling to Florida to spend a few months each winter, especially happy to sneak away from the cold New England winters. She truly loved their Alaskan cruise to celebrate their retirement. More than all of these things, she loved her family. She loved providing for and making sure that their family was not in need. She loved cooking for her family, especially during the holidays, as those were favorite times spent together. Joyce not only loved cooking for her family, but also for all family and friends.

In addition to her dear husband Ralph, Joyce is survived by children, Ralph R. Simone, III and his wife Melissa of Farmington, NH, Gayle Troiani and her husband Michael of Merrimack, NH; grandchildren: Alyesha, Zachary, Camyla, Mekenna, Justin, and Christopher; sister-in-law Jaci Marcello and her husband Lou; brother-in-law Wayne Simone and his wife Beth; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, consider donations in Joyce’s memory to the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, NH, where Joyce was wonderfully cared for so many times.
