Josephine R. Collopy

Josephine R. (Carabello) Collopy, 84, of Methuen passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Holy Family Hospital.  She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Mary (Rapisardi) Carabello.

Josephine was a graduate of Lawrence High School and Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing.  She was employed as a registered nurse for over forty-two years at local area hospitals and nursing care facilities.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading and crossword puzzles.

Josephine was predeceased by her beloved husband, John J. Collopy, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jo Georgiev and her husband James of San Marcos, CA, John Collopy of Hopkinton, NH, Maureen, Brian, and Alan Collopy all of Methuen.  She also leaves one grandchild, Nicholas.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral mass at 9:00 AM on Friday, November 10, 2017 at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen.  At the request of the family there will be no visiting hours.  Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.  Arrangements have been made by Cataudella Funeral Home, Methuen.  For directions or to send condolences, please visit www.cataudellafh.com.
