Joseph A. Traficante
July 27, 1932 ~ October 9, 2021 (age 89) 89 Years Old
Joseph A. Traficante, age 89, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Louise I. (Grasso) Traficante.
Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late Joseph and Judith (Lomio) Traficante, Joseph was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1950, where he loved to play football. A few years later, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during in the Korean War. He played trumpet in the Air force and took great pride in all of his achievements. Following his honorable discharge, Joseph returned home to the Lawrence area and to the love of his life with whom he spent sixty-six years of marriage with, Louise.
Joseph always enjoyed sports, he played football, softball, and loved to watch all of the New England sports teams. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren more than anything. Joseph enjoyed dancing, singing, and humming, particularly to Tony Bennett. He had an amazing sense of humor and was always the life of the party. Joseph loved pizza, pasta, and playing cards and bingo with his sister in-law, Kitty Garside.
Along with his wife and parents, Joseph was pre-deceased by his siblings, Patrick Traficante, and Connie Dequatro, as well as his brother in-law, Richard Lonardo.
Joseph will be deeply missed and is survived by his children, Donna Traficante of Chelmsford, MA, Dina Traficante and her spouse, Kirk Jensen of Benton, ME, Joseph Traficante and his wife, Jennifer, of Milford, NH; sister, Rachel Lonardo of Methuen, MA; grandchildren, Colin Ward, Devan O’Brien, and Willow Traficante. He is also survived by his sister in-law, Kitty Garside, and several nieces and nephews.
