Lt. I had been away from our common shared forum. I was incredibly saddened to find out about his passing. We had a lot of fun together posting pictures of Zulus and the 24th foot. I am glad to have been a part of it with him. I plan to do a few pieces just for him.

Perhaps no more than a handful of the his fellow contributors/members on RorkesdriftVC knew him as “Joe” and certainly fewer still as Joe Quintini from Kittery, Maine, USA. To us, he was and will always be “The Lt.”-- that fellow from The States with an enduring (and endearing) obsession for military modeling and macro-photography. Sadly, now we can only conjecture how he came by that abiding interest in the rather obscure Anglo-Zulu War which led him to share his passions with others Worldwide. Yet amongst our continuing debates and occasionally vitriolic confrontations with one another, the single thing which all of us do and always will agree on is that we and our site will be the less for his absence. And the better for the time he was with us. Go well, Joe.

I met & knew Joe through the NH Country Music Association (NHCMA). I first saw him as that tall lanky guy up doing the line dancing at the NHCMA Jamborees. I will always remember him for his encouraging words and his support of me and my music. You just never know the affect that you have on others and Joe was always kind to me. I will miss his presence.

Joe taught me how to dance (well, sort of). I taught Joe how to ride a horse (well, sort of). I treasure many special memories. He was loved, he is missed.
