Joseph J. DiFrancesco

Joseph J. DiFrancesco, 86, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Cedar View Rehab, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 2, 1937, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Felicia (Medici) DiFrancesco.

Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, Joseph graduated from Lawrence High in 1955 and proudly served in the Army and Army Reserves. He married his beloved wife, Regina (Marcoux) DiFrancesco and they raised their five children together. He worked as a draftsman at Pope Machinery for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards and listening to Frank Sinatra. He was very passionate about politics, and most of all he loved his country and family more than anything.

Along with his parents, Joseph is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Regina (Marcoux) DiFrancesco; brother, John DiFrancesco; and sisters, Angelina DiFrancesco and Carmelina Lawton.

Joseph will be deeply missed and leaves behind his children: Sandra and her partner Sara Perkins of Candia, NH, Laura and her husband George Flibotte of Methuen, MA, Lisa and her husband Dalton Marin of Hampstead, NH, Debra and her husband Tony Mondello of Methuen, MA, and Joseph and his partner Sandy Ock of Seabrook, NH; his six loving grandchildren: Michael Scammon and his wife Elizabeth, Nicholas Scammon, Jonathan Scammon and his wife Emily, Alyssa Lescarbeau and her husband Ryan, Joseph Souza, and Jack Lee. Joseph also leaves behind his three great-grandchildren who lit up his heart and life: Reese Lescarbeau, Jason Scammon, and Kaidan Scammon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 N. Lowell Street, Methuen.
