John J. Mustapha

John J. Mustapha, 68, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Amette and Fran Mustapha.

So many family, friends, and co-workers loved John. Where and how to begin a rendition that would do justice to a man who grabbed all that life and the world had to offer? As third son, fourth child, in a family of nine children, John told the world the stories detailing the ups and downs of growing up in a large family during the 60s. Any time John told a story, all knew the end result of hysterical laughter was inevitable. His knack to make others laugh was one of his greatest attributes.

John owned and managed John James Construction. His reputation as a demolition operator put him at the top of his profession. He loved to work and loved the opportunity to meet other professionals he encountered along the way.

Hitting local casinos, weekly golf matches, numerous journeys on his motorcycle, snowmobile rides for miles up north, the hunt for his next corvette, and attending family events, were the things that filled John’s dance card. He always made time for his family, from the youngest to the oldest, including nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was predeceased by his parents, Amette and Fran (Dimario) Mustapha; and his sister, Cheryl Mustapha.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Lisa Dipierro-Mustapha; his children Corey Hawkins and Sabino Hawkins, and Jamie Mustapha; siblings, Don and his wife Susan (Congo) Mustapha, Amette and his wife Donna (Maranto) Mustapha, Karon (Mustapha) Hannigan and her husband James, Dale Mustapha, Annette (Mustapha) Hoehn and her husband Bruce, Brenda (Mustapha) Cubelli and her husband Frank, Beverly Mustapha; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, between 5:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
