John P. Lisio

John Paul Lisio, 46, lost his battle with addiction on May 14, 2018. He was born on September 16, 1971 at Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen to Carol (Jones) Lisio-Sackos and the late John L. “Butch” Lisio.

John played Little League at Mt. Vernon Baseball Park in Lawrence, but his first love was youth hockey, going to the State Champs as a Woburn Bantams. He served in the Army National Guard in 1999 at Fort Lenardwood, MO. At one time, John was the owner and a master barber of three barber shops in Woburn, North Andover, and Lawrence. He also held a CDL license.

John is survived by his sister, Lisa M. Lisio (Todd) and their children, Jessica (Joshua) and her children, Caden, Arianna, and Joshua, Dylan and Caleb Lisio, all of Maine; Daniel P. Lisio and his children, Bryan and Mathew of Methuen; Robyn L. Alessandro and her children, Nicholas (Carissa) and their children, Emma and Natallie, all of Methuen; and Tyler Alessandro (Bonnie) of Methuen.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Paul S. and Pauline Jones; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Lisio; and his special cousin, Ami Jones. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
John’s life had purpose; he was more than his addiction. Please remember him as a kind, loving, funny, bright, and caring man with a smile that would light up a room. He is now at peace in the loving arms of his higher power surrounded by many angels. Because he struggled for many years to fight the demons inside, anyone wishing to, may donate in John’s name to the following programs aimed at helping those who battle addiction: Learn to Cope, the Megan House.org, or any organization that will prevent the loss of any more lives to addiction.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 5:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
