John A. LaMela

John A. LaMela, 57, of North Reading, MA and formerly of Methuen, MA, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Rosa (Ponti) LaMela.
 
John was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence Vocational Technical School.  He worked as a machinist and retired from Lucent Technologies.  John was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed going to restaurants, traveling, sight-seeing, and music. 
 
He is survived by his sister, Jean Cahill and her husband Donald of Norfolk, MA and his brother, Nicholas LaMela and his wife Anthy of Bradford.  He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Donald, Jennifer, Alexandra, Nicholas, Gavin, and Olivia.
 
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 9:30-11:30 AM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.  Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
