John Kyriages

John Kyriages, 93, of Methuen, MA, passed away December 3, 2022, at High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA, with his loving family by his side. Born in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of the late Costas and Hariclea (Matthew) Kiriagis.

Raised in Lawrence, John was a graduate of Lawrence High School and Lowell Tech. He was a Korean War veteran and served with the U.S. Air Force.
 
John was employed as a design draftsman for AVCO-TEXTRON for many years.  He was a parishioner of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover, MA, and a member of the AHEPA and John Hancock Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Methuen. John was a licensed pilot and had a passion for flying, photography, sweets, and his grand-dogs. A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, John cherished his family as much as they cherished him.
 
He was predeceased by his infant granddaughter, Britney Lee Mattox; his brothers, Nicholas Kiriaji and Archie Kiriajes; and his sister, Evanthia Matses.
 
John is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Kay (Karos) Kyriages; his daughters, Linda Kyriages Tracy of Salem, NH and Diane Keri and her husband Jim Cheas of Panama City, FL; his former son-in-law, Matt Mattox; grandchildren, Lee and Skye Mattox; and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Callan, Scottlyn, and Charlee.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visiting period on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 71 Chandler Road, Andover. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
