John J. DiGloria

John J. DiGloria, 94, a lifelong resident of Methuen, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Lawrence General Hospital.  Born in Methuen, he was the son of Vincenzo and Rosaria (Alletta) DiGloria.

Mr. DiGloria was raised and educated in Methuen and at the age of 21 enlisted with the U.S. Army and was a W.W.II veteran.  For 35 years he worked as a laborer and cement finisher for Charles Construction.  He was also a member of the Sargent Improvement Club of Methuen.

John was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  His pride and joy was his garden which he planted for the last 50 years.  His enjoyment was to supply all the fresh vegetables to his family, friends, and neighbors.  John also loved the race track at Rockingham Park where he had many friends as well as the tellers, in particular Joanne and Jean.

He was predeceased by his wife, Adeline (Quereux) DiGloria; his brothers, Joseph, James, Philip and Sam DiGloria and his sisters, Lena Schembri, Josie Benanti, Jenny Thomas, Rose Hebsch and Jean Rizzo.

Mr. DiGloria is survived by his son, John J. DiGloria and his wife Susan (Caron) of Methuen; brother, Rocco DiGloria and his wife Jean of Methuen; sister, Connie Trovato of Methuen and his granddaughters, Taylor and Krista DiGloria both of Methuen.  He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday morning, June 17, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen.  Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.  For directions or to send condolences please visit www.cataudellafh.com.
