John H. Curtin

John Henry “Jack" Curtin, 81, of Lawrence, MA, died unexpectedly on the morning of June 8, 2020. He was born in Lawrence on August 3, 1938, to the late Genevieve Curtin.

Jack grew up and remained a native of Lawrence where he attended St. Augustine’s School and Central Catholic High School. In 1968, he married Carol Ann Curtin, with whom he shared more than fifty years of marriage until she died in 2018.

A truck driver by trade, Jack loved to watch Western movies, work on his trucks, pet his cat, and spend time in the backyard pool at the home where he lived with Carol for more than forty years. He and Carol shared a happy marriage filled with playful teasing and jokes.

Spending time with family was most important to Jack and he loved to entertain the children by telling jokes and making everyone laugh. In his later years, he loved rocking his great grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, Jack was predeceased by his stepfather, Joseph Powers; and his stepchildren, Michael Greer, Darryl Greer, and Karen Greer.

Jack is survived by his children, John “Jackie,” Jr. of Salem, NH, Linda Lowney of Salem, NH, Joey Curtin of Methuen, Tom Curtin and his wife, Connie of Townsend, Jennifer Curtin of Methuen; his stepsons, John Greer of Florida, and Kevin Greer and his partner, Chris of Lowell. Jack also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, including Amanda Turner, Anthony Dube and Justin Dube, who spent many years growing up in Jack and Carol’s home; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, June 12, 2020, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
