Joanne M. Kinsella

Joanne M. (Scanlan) Kinsella, 83, a Methuen, MA resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2020. She was the wife of Michael A. Kinsella, Sr. with whom she shared fifty-six wonderful years in marriage.

The only child of the late Josephine C. (O’Brien) and Daniel F. Scanlan, Joanne was born and raised in Cambridge, MA and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School. During her career, she worked in the banking industry and retired as manager of Merrimack College Federal Credit Union.

Joanne raised their children in Methuen. She loved to care and provide for her family and always made sure their home was warm and inviting to all family and friends. She will be remembered fondly for the many times that she was there to help others, something that brought her much joy.

In retirement, Joanne loved to golf at local courses in both ladies and couple’s leagues. She soon gained the respect of many as she was a fierce competitor and even hit a hole-in-one. Spending their winters in Florida provided Joanne an opportunity to perfect her golf skills and enjoy her long walks.

Joanne was the loving mother of Laureen McCluskey and her husband James M. of Scituate, MA, Michael A. Kinsella, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline Agnew of Maynard, MA; devoted “Nina” to her grandchildren, Seamus K., Morgan N., and Kendal E. McCluskey, all of Scituate, and Maxwell B. Kinsella of Maynard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass being celebrated for Joanne at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
