Joann A. (Nobrega) Michaud, 71, of Methuen, MA, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton. Born on April 18, 1947 in Newburyport, MA, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Glennis (Downs) Nobrega.
Joann grew up in the Salisbury area and was a graduate from Newburyport High School. She went on to marry the love of her life, Daniel, and together they raised a family of four children. She was employed for over twenty years at the Comprehensive Grammar School in Methuen as a lunch lady prior to retiring.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Joann always attended to her family’s and others’ needs before her own. She enjoyed family gatherings and the precious time spent with her children and grandchildren. She instilled the value of family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and the gift of gab. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed trips to the beach, card games, computer games, and day trips.
Joann was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent Nobrega, Jr. and Robert Nobrega. She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel G. Michaud of Methuen; four children, Lisa Carr and her husband, Shaun of Manville, RI, Eric Michaud and his wife, Katie of Wilmington, Greg Michaud and his companion, Josi of Methuen, and Stefanie Michaud of Woburn; sister, Maryann Hailey and her husband, Michael of Plaistow, NH; brother, Rodney Nobrega and his wife, Carol of North Hampton, NH; and three grandchildren, Jason Michaud, Joseph Michaud, and Aaliyah Michaud. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.
