Joan C. (Ebert) Kolofoles, 83, of Lawrence, MA, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Port Healthcare Center in Newburyport, MA. Born in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Hugo and Marion (Chantry) Ebert.
Raised and educated in Methuen and Lawrence, Joan worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a tax examiner and later retired from Raytheon Corporation where she was a team leader in the assembly department.
Joan loved traveling especially cruising to tropical destinations and her annual trips to Florida. She was an avid reader and an excellent cook. She loved preparing meals for her family and was especially known for her famous birthday cakes. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joan was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles J. Kolofoles; children, Jean Dzielak and her husband Robert of Delaware, Charles Kolofoles, Jr., wife Gill, and step-daughter, Fiona of Salem, NH, and Kim Grasso and her husband Mark of Dracut; grandchildren, Jason Dzielak and his wife Melissa, Nolan Dzielak and his wife Kim, Ryan Dzielak and his wife Lexie, Joshua Grasso, and Sabrina Laskowski and her husband Jason. She also leaves six great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Lapadula and her husband Anthony; sister-in-law, Eleni Woodis; brother-in-law, Nicholas Kolofoles; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Due to the current MA restrictions services will be private. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
