Jian Liu, 87, of Methuen, MA passed away on June 19, 2022, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston, MA, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Anzhi Li.
Mr Jian Liu was born in Province of Hebei, China in 1934. His father was a merchandiser and his mother was a housewife. Because of the Japanese invasion, the life was hard in the countryside where his home county was in a war zone. For his safety and better education, he was move to Beijing by his family as a 9 year old, where he started his formal education.
After graduating from the Hufangqiao primary school, he went into the Sixth Boys Only Secondary and High School where he spent 6 wonderful years. Through national university entrance examinations he went to the famous Nan Kai University to study physics. After 4 years of hard work he graduated and stayed in the same department to teach until his retirement. At the time of his retirement he was a professor of physics.
In order to join his wife Anzhi Li in USA, Mr Jian Liu came to Boston in the late 90’s at which time he joined the Scully Signal Company and worked as a quality control engineer until his retirement in 2013.
Mr Jian Liu is an humble man, and very kind man he likes to help others. He is also multi talented, and full of humor and laughter. He will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Xiaohui Liu and her husband Xiao Jun Gu of England and his son, Xiaodong Liu and his wife Amanda of Canada. He also leaves behind three grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Sunday July 10, 2022, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Peasant Valley Street, Methuen. Burial will be private.
