Jane M. (Wedgwood) Davis, 57, of Methuen passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a courageous 16 year struggle with lung cancer. Jane was born in Lynn, MA on February 16, 1960, the daughter of William J. Wedgwood and the late Mary E. (Moffitt) Wedgwood.
She grew up in Hamilton and graduated Hamilton Wenham Regional High School, class of 78, then later settled in Methuen to raise her family. Jane dedicated her life to helping others and was employed as a caregiver for many years with Class, Inc. in Lawrence, MA, until her illness forced her to "retire." Once "retired" she began to travel whenever possible, cross country many times and also abroad, including England, Spain, and the Holy Land. She was an avid Red Sox fan, camping enthusiast, and softball player. She never missed an opportunity to help others.
Jane was the loving mother of three children: William C. Desjardins, Daniel K. Desjardins, and Erin J. Davis, all of Methuen; brother and sisters: John Wedgwood, Sandra Wedgwood, and Vicki Cozzolino; step-mother, Mary F. Wedgwood; step-brother and step-sisters: David Destreza, Liz Destreza, Kathryn Destreza, and Jeanne Englebrecht. She also leaves behind her three adoring grandchildren: Dorian, Sophia, and Calvin; nieces and nephews: Christina, Hazel, Hayden, and Hudson; and many other relatives, dear friends and loyal K9, Oliver. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Kenneth Desjardins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 30, 2017 at St. Lucy Parish, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Burial will be private.
