James T. Duggan, 75, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully after a long illness. For thirty-four years, he was the beloved and devoted husband of Maureen W. (Woodward) Duggan. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Janis Ofria, and her husband, James. James was a loving uncle to his niece and nephews as well as six great-nieces and nephews. James is also survived by his aunt, Elizabeth Branca, and his cousins.
James was a graduate of Norwich University class of 1967. He served one year at Fort Knox Kentucky, and in 1969, James served in Vietnam as a 1st Lieutenant in the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Troop E, 17th Armored Cavalry, and was awarded a bronze star medal.
Following his retirement from Osram Sylvania and Fed-Ex Corporation, James enjoyed golfing and gardening. James, who always put others before himself, was a hardworking, generous, and a kind man to all his family, friends and neighbors.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. Military honors will be held during visiting hours at 5:00 PM and a funeral service will be offered at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in James’ memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
