Henrick Doyley, 87, of Methuen, formerly of Lawrence, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence. He was the son of the Viola (Lemine) Doyley and William Doyley of Portland Parish, Jamaica.
Henrick was born in Portland, Jamaica, where in his early years he worked as a professional welder. He met the love of his life Loretta and together they had five children: three girls and two boys, along with three adopted children: two boys and one girl, in addition to a daughter he brought to the union. Henrick immigrated to the United States of America, eventually having his wife and children join him.
He worked in manufacturing at Malden Mills in Lawrence for several years before leaving to savor his retirement. Henrick enjoyed cooking, playing a good game of domino, watching his beloved baseball team, the New York Yankees, play against the Boston Red Sox, and most of all loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and numerous close friends.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; sons, Brenton Billet, Tom Billet, Errol Doyley, and Claude Doyley; and daughters, Sonia Billet, Jasmine Doyley, Novlette Scafe, Paulette Marshall, and Alvet Doyley; his sister, Doris Flemming; and his brother, Lloyd Henry; along with many grand and great grand kids, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his vigil on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. His funeral service will take place at Rehoboth Lighthouse Full Gospel Academy, 409 Washington Street in Haverhill on Saturday, March 9, 2019, with viewing from 9:00 to 9:55 AM followed by services at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
