Helen (Licciardi) Lucchesi, 88, of Methuen, formally of Lawrence, passed away on April 22, 2019 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Helen was born in Lawrence on July 10, 1930 to the late Giovanni and Annie (Buco) Licciardi. She was the beloved and dedicated wife of the late Jerom Lucchesi.
Mom left us with the same strength and resilience that she shared with us while living. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She loved sharing her Italian biscotti cookies with her many friends, and happily spent many hours cooking stuffed shells, chicken cutlets and soup for her children and grandchildren. Helen and her family also spent many years enjoying their summers at their property at Hampton beach, where she and her husband Jerry eventually retired. She was a long-time volunteer at the Methuen Senior Center and the Methuen YMCA day care. She was also a member of St. Rita’s Sodality.
Helen joins those who have passed before her: husband of 47 years, Jerry, parents, Giovanni and Annie; sisters, Josephine and Patrina; sister-in-law, Mary; niece, Lauren; and many beloved friends.
Helen’s loved ones will be forever grateful for her positive outlook and endless energy that she shared with them. She leaves behind her son, Ron and his partner, Dave; son, Tom and his wife, Hilma, and their daughter, Sheila; her daughter, Judy Edwards and her husband, Eric; grandchildren, Seth and Olivia; brothers, Pat and John and his wife, Lucy; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Merrimac Valley Hospice, Merrimack Valley Elder Services, and all her friends at Manzi Gardens, who helped to keep Helen comfortable in her home during her illness.
Memorial donations may be made to Helen’s favorite charity - Saint Jude Children’s Foundation.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10 AM in Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Interment will be held at Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
