Giovanna (Chiaramonte) D’Alberti, age 93, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Nicolo.

Daughter of the late Rosario and Rosa (Savarino) Chiaramonte, Giovanna was born and raised in Pachino, Italy. She worked as a stitcher for Greico Brothers and Polo Corporation for twenty-nine years before her retirement in 1989.

Giovanna was an active and zealous member of the Lawrence Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness for over forty-five years. She loved to have family gatherings on Sunday and was known for her hospitality and cooking, especially her cheesecake and lemon cake which everyone enjoyed and wanted the recipes. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.

Predeceased by her brothers, Salvatore and John Chiaramonte; her sister, Maria Avarino and her grandson, Matthew D’Alberti, Giovanna is survived by her daughter, Tina and her husband Donald Pelletier of Methuen and her son, Leonard and his wife Brenda of Methuen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leonard D’Alberti, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Malden, MA, Nathan and Christopher Pelletier of Methuen; and her great grandchildren, Jasmine and Josiah D’Alberti.

The family would like to take a moment to express their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Berkeley Nursing Home in Lawrence, the staff at St. Camillus-Holy Family Hospital and the Merrimack Valley Hospice of Haverhill, MA.

Funeral services are private and being held at the convenience of the family.

As of the most recent update, we are able to offer visitation periods and funeral services in the funeral home or at a church.

·Gathering in the lobby is not allowed so that we may adhere to health code mandates.
