Gilda G. Connors

Gilda G. (Fusco) Connors, 91, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Carmen and Carmella (Parrillo) Fusco.

Raised in Lawrence, Gilda was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1946. She worked in sales for many years at Zayre’s, McQuades, and Lady Grace stores. She enjoyed trips of Foxwoods, playing Bingo and Scrabble, watching the Patriots and the Red Sox, traveling, and spending time with friends. Gilda was a very faithful and caring person, who always had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Connors, who passed in 1993; siblings: Frank, John, Louise, Connie, Viola Fusco, and Anna Vallante; and her son-in-law, William G. Klier.

Gilda is survived by her children, Joanne Klier of Sandown, NH and Diane Bonanno and her husband Chuck of Methuen; sister, Antonetta Sirois of Andover; grandchildren, Ashley Bonanno, Erika and Stephanie Bonanno, Daniel Bonanno and Abbey Pardoen; step-grandchildren, Heather McCann and her husband Tim, and Eric Klier; and step-great-grandchildren, Ava and Olivia McCann. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Nevins, who cared for her during her eight-year stay.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, November 29, 2019, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street in Methuen. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gilda’s memory to Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 10 Ingalls Court, Methuen, MA 01844, or a charity of one’s choice.
