Geraldine A. O'Brien

Geraldine A. “Gerry” (Turkowsky) O’Brien, of Methuen, MA, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020, at the age of 88. She was born and educated in Lawrence, MA, and was a resident of Methuen for the past fifty years and was also a summer resident of the Greenlands of Hampton, NH.

A parishioner of St. Lucy Church in Methuen, Gerry was also a twenty-nine year member of the Moving On Group of Greater Lawrence. She was a longtime volunteer at Lawrence General Hospital and served on the board of the former L.G.H. Aid Association during the 1980s.

Gerry was predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. O’Brien, who passed away in 1989. Prior to her husband's retirement from American Airlines as a professional Flight Engineer, they traveled together extensively.

She is survived by her children, Leslie Pappas and her husband Arthur of Wells, ME, Allyson O’Brien and her husband James Morgan of Nashua, NH, and Christopher O’Brien and his wife Justine of Salisbury, MA; grandchildren, Alexis and Zachary Pappas; and several cousins, including Gloria Holbrook of Andover.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Dana Farber, Merrimack Valley Hospice, and the Methuen police and fire departments.
