George Kolofoles

George Kolofoles, beloved son of the late James and Jean Kolofoles, passed into eternity on April 2, 2018 after contracting double pneumonia.

George graduated from Lawrence High School and Boston College. He worked in the business world, but later went into the food and restaurant business.

George was a hardworking man, but dedicated to his family. He had a wonderful voice, and as a young man was a soloist in the choir at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover. He also sang at family weddings and functions. He was a patron of the arts, enjoyed the opera, symphonies, and music in general. He also loved walking the beach at Siesta Key Florida when visiting his family’s winter home.

George is survived by his siblings, Michael Kolofoles, Charles Kolofoles and his wife Joan, Nicholas Kolofoles and Eleni Woodis who were very close and we will miss their wonderful kind, generous, and fun loving brother. He also leaves his nieces, Jean Dzielak and husband Bob, Kim Grasso and husband Mark, Stacy Kolofoles, Lynne Kolofoles - Lopez and Charles Kolofoles, Jr. and wife Gill whom he was very proud of and also leaves many grand nieces and nephews.

Our hearts are heavy and we will miss him, but will celebrate his life.

The family would like to thank the wonderful medics that took care of him and are grateful to the Hannah-Dustin Rehabilitation staff who took such good care of him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Contributions may be made in his memory to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 71 Chandler Road, Andover, MA 01810 or to your favorite charity.
